Stella Koukounis

Stella C. Koukounis graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2003 with an LL.B. with honours and followed a specialisation as a Barrister at the Nottingham Law School in 2004, focusing on Commercial and Criminal Litigation. Stella is a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn. In 2005, Stella extended her studies in corporate and commercial law at University College London, where she was awarded an LL.M.

Her clients are primarily high-net-worth groups based abroad and include private equity funds, family offices, and groups of companies in the IT, Energy, Food and Beverage, and raw material sectors. Stella headed a leading corporate service provider, managing a team of over 25 employees, from 2013 to 2015, before deciding to set up Solsidus Law.

From 2015 to 2021, parallel to her legal practice, Stella was the designated legal advisor and representative of a Swiss family office and their operations in Cyprus. This included the creation and development of a team of over 15 multi-disciplinary professionals, while leading a number of real estate, securities, and investment-related projects, complemented by in-house and external legal, accounting, and other professionals.

During her tenure and practice, Stella participated in the design and implementation of investment strategies, which included supervising all stages of real estate investment projects in Cyprus and abroad (acquisition, development, and sale of commercial and residential properties in Nicosia), the listing and issue of traded securities on the Cypriot Stock Exchange, Vienna Stock Exchange, and Euronext, the establishment and operation of Alternative Investment Funds (and RAIFs), and the creation of joint ventures in the tech/gaming sector, among others.

An avid “team-builder,” Stella and her team represented the first-ever large-scale electronic music festival to be set up and perform in Cyprus for two consecutive years, and continue to represent groups active in media and entertainment. Stella’s latest focus includes advising and representing groups in alternative energy and sustainable financing.

Alongside her team and legal practice, Stella is an active board advisor, having served on the board of a publicly listed company from 2015 to 2021 with investments in real estate and technology, and is currently serving on the board of a known fintech structure.

In May 2025, Stella founded the Women of Impact podcast, an exclusive series of podcasts with women in Cyprus and abroad who leave a mark in business and society through their leadership. The podcast has amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and across social media, catching the attention of distinguished politicians worldwide. Amongst the eminent women interviewed are Karolina Pelendritou (Cyprus’ Golden Paralympic Athlete), Lia Lungu (Global Governance Expert and Human Rights Representative), and Angela Panayiotou, head of the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation.
